Location:
Hugged by the green Tsitsikamma Mountain forest to the north and the blue Indian
Ocean to the south, we are centrally located in Keurboomstrand Village,
about12km from Plettenberg Bay. Keurboomstrand is situated in the heart of the
Garden Route, about 250km from Port Elizabeth to the east and 100km from George
to the west, both of which have major airports.
Facilities:
Our self-catering apartment has its own entrance, 2 bedrooms, one with a double
bed and the other with two single beds. It has one full bathroom with bath,
shower and toilet.
The open plan kitchen and lounge leads to a veranda facing the swimming pool.
The lounge and veranda offer partial views of Kettle Beach, within walking
distance (+/- 300m). The property is especially suitable for older people, since
all areas are on the same level and there are no stairs to negotiate.
- We can accommodate a maximum of 4 (four) people, including children.
- The apartment is equipped with DStv and CD/DVD. You are welcome to bring
your own CDs and DVDs.
- The kitchen has a mini chef, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, dinner
service & cutlery as well as pots & pans.
- An outside braai along with the usual utensils is also available.
- Linen and bathroom towels are supplied and changed on a weekly basis.
Please bring your own beach towels.
- An outdoor shower is available to rinse off beach sand before entering
the apartment or pool.
- Secure open parking is available on site.
- A laundry service is available within 6km.
- Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets, as we have a cat.

Restaurants & nightlife: Walk about 300m to Enrico's, a popular
beachfront restaurant offering Italian cuisine. Wybo's Restaurant, specializing
in South African dishes, and the Dunes Resort Restaurant, are situated within
4km from 3 Pikkewyne. Provisions can be obtained from Thyme & Again, a popular
roadside farm stall within 4km from the apartment. Plettenberg Bay and Knysna
(about 45km to the east) offer a variety of sophisticated restaurants and
nightclubs.
Swimming: Various swimming beaches are within walking distance (200m to
500m) from 3 Pikkewyne. While The Waves (500m) is especially popular among
surfers, Bikini Beach (or Kappertjiestrand) (100m) is a secluded cove frequented
by would-be fishermen. Kettle Beach, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Beach (300m) are also
sandy coves frequented by families looking for fun in the sun and a bash in the
waves.
Walking: Easy walks along the beach at low tide take you past interesting
rock formations such as Picnic Rock, Piet se Bank, 'Spuitrots', Arch Rock and,
having crossed the Matjes River, Cathedral Rock. At high tide Cathedral Rock can
be reached via an easy forest walk along the Bridle Path, which also passes an
archaelogical dig site displaying the lifestyle of the early San people. More
strenuous walks can be had in the de Vasselot National Park, past Grootbank and
on to Nature’s Valley in the east, or in Robberg National Park (about 20km drive
to the west of Keurboomstrand).
Other attractions: From the viewpoint above Bikini Beach (20m from the
apartment) whales and their calves can be seen regularly between June and
October, while dolphins are seen passing and frolicking virtually every day of
the year. Boat trips are offered by Plettenberg Bay enterprises such as Ocean
Blue for really close-up encounters with these wonderful mammals. A ferry trip
up the forest-surrounded Keurbooms River can be taken from about 5km to the west
of 3 Pikkewyne, while Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and the Teniqua wild animal
sanctuary are about 15km to the east of our location.
