Struisbaai harbour.
As a professional fishing charter company , we make sure that we use nothing but
the best fishing equipment and tackle available. In the long run, for both
professionals and weekend warriors alike, having the best equipment guarantees
longer, trouble-free fishing resulting in more fun and more fish.
We offer a top of the line deep sea fishing charter where you experience the
awesome fishing grounds at the southern most tip of Africa where the two oceans
meet. Do battle with the fast and strong yellowtail or the ferocious giant red
steenbras. Get set for a tough battle against a huge bronze whaler or
hammerhead, or enjoy the action while reef fishing for red stump, cob, santer,
red roman or a tenacious black musselcracker.
The folks at Awesome Charters know all there is to know about boat maintenance
and safety, and it shows. Our boats are inspected regularly by Marine Coastal
Management to ensure all safety guidelines are met.
Awesome Charters uses a 28ft cat powered by two well maintained140HP Suzuki
engines and carries all the latest safety and navigation equipment. The second
boat is a 26ft cat powered by twin 115 Suzuki outboards with seating for 10
anglers and a lovely walk-around design, making your fishing charter experience
a pleasurable one.
We offer the following fishing and pleasure charters:
- 6 Hours of saltwater deep sea fishing @R700/head (Maximum 8 anglers)
- 3 Hours afternoon fishing charter @ R350/head (Maximum 8 anglers)
- Sundowner cruises @ R250/head. Snacks and champagne will be served
- Pleasure Trips for 30 minutes @ R90/head.
We are a kids friendly fishing charter company, and we also cater for ladies,
groups or you can book out the boat all for yourself.
Marlin Fishing - Awesome Charters is fully equipped to make your Marlin fishing
an enjoyable experience. With a crew boasting over 50 years combined experience
in these waters and the latest tackle and lures on board our 28 ft Cat we are
ready to hook you into a trophy Marlin. We fish the famous 12 Mile Bank, the 45
Mile Bank and the Alphard Banks - the place where big Black Marlin and ferocious
Striped Marlin roam the warm Agulhas current.
Shark Safaris - The waters around Struisbaai and Agulhas are known for the wide
variety of sharks species that inhabit this area. Deep sea angling for sharks is
an exciting sport that taxes the angler and its equipment to the fullest. There
are few sounds as exciting to an offshore angler as a screaming reel, and the
feeling of solid power at the end of the line when you set the hook. Shark
angling is an adrenaline rush - followed by a taxing hard fight.
