This magnificent and magical indigenous forest is located just off the R617 in
the quaint, rural village of Southern Drakensberg, Kwazulu-Natal.
Knysna Touraco, Southern
Ground Hornbill, Orange Ground Thrush, Bush Black Cap, Wood hoopoe, Black-headed
Oriole and a host of other interesting bird species.
With every season the forest landscape changes unveiling each time a wealth of
natural beauty and an overwhelming sense of peace and well being to all
visitors. Towering Yellow wood, Knobwood, Mountain Hard Pear, Sneezewood, Pompom
tree, Cape Chestnut and Lemon wood are just some of the indigenous trees that
provide the Shady forest canopy.
Take a forest tour with an accredited bird guide and fully experience the sounds
and sights of the birds, animals and plants that inhabit Marustwa. From ground
and tree orchids, to Paint brush lilies and ferns to tree and ground dassies,
wild bush pig, bush and reed buck.
Relax and enjoy an alfresco lunch in one of the picnic sites or take
advantage of our celebration picnic service for a special occasion.

selected from the finest and most original local crafters.
Hours: 6 am to 4pm 7 days a week including all public holidays.

Gum Boot Hire: for rainy days R5 a pair.
Group visits welcomed and catered for with pleasure.
