Welcome, and thank you for your interest in St Lucia (South Africa) as a marlin and big game fish fishing destination. Experienced fishermen, novices and families have enjoyed our hospitality for years. We are a family run operation - fishing here for almost 34 years we will do our best to ensure you have a successful, enjoyable, and comfortable fishing adventure. St Lucia is situated on the East coast of South Africa - 6 hours drive from Johannesburg and 2 hours drive from Durban.

Black Marlin are plentiful although you can also expect to catch Blue Marlin with plenty of "by-catches" - sailfish, tuna, wahoo, dorado, king mackeral etc. also available. Shark fishing can also be arranged. We encourage "tag-and-release" of marlin and sailfish although it is up to the angler to decide. Fishing pressure on billfish in South Africa is enormous - especially from industrial longliners. The main fishing season is October to April although we are also catching fish in the winter months.

St Lucia and Cape Vidal are at the centre of the "marlin belt" of South Africa. To the North of the area lies Sodwana Bay and to the South Richards Bay -both these towns play host to the biggest marlin competitions in South Africa. Due to the inaccessibility of the area competitions are not fished here and there is an abundance of marlin.

Captain "Bob" has fished this area for 34 years and you are assured of an exhilarating experience. You can either fish St Lucia or Cape Vidal depending on where conditions are most favourable. Remember here you are surrounded by water -sea on the one side and a 48km estuary on the other side. Bottle nosed dolphin frequent the area and often ride the bow wave of the boat - from June to mid November you are guaranteed to see whales. You can take advantage of Bob's extensive knowledge of the sea and ask him questions about anything from different species of fish and sea birds to ocean conditions and just about anything you can think of.
