CROCODYLUS PRIVATE SANCTUARY
Animal Parks / Zoos
in Hluhluwe, Zululand & Maputuland,
KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
Location:
Crocodylus private sanctuary and Ostrich farm is located right next to the
N2 National Road Approximately 10 kilometers south of Hluhluwe and 85 kilometers
north of Empangeni on KwaZulu Natal’s North Coast.
Activities:
At Crocodylus our aim is to educate the tourist into the lives and legend of
these gentle “often misunderstood” giants… the Crocodile. We offer a self guided
tour where you are free to take a walk past the emu’s, the ostrich and the
crocodile enclosures and take up close photo’s in as close to a natural
environment as possible. The only concrete found in our enclosures is the pool’s
themselves.
Our guided tour is presented by Mr. Vernon Diggins who shares a special bond
with these creatures. This tour lasts an hour and you will go away with lots of
information on these animals and lots of photos to show the family back home.
During this time you will also get to hold and “Kiss” a baby crocodile. Our
snorkeling pool is nearing completion and here you are able to snorkel around
with the “little” ones.
Facilities:
At Crocodylus we have a 36-seater tea garden that serves light luncheons and “very”
good coffee. Dinners of steak, crocodile steak or traditional African Braai or
Potjie can be requested. The tea garden is fully wheelchair friendly and we have
paraplegic toilet facilities on offer as well. We do have camping facilities for
anyone that wishes to stay over in this Eden of Africa.
For the children there is a bunny park with swings and a small jungle gym.
