Knysna Fishing and Recreational Charters operates out of Knysna, 45 min from George Airport on the Garden Route of South Africa. We offer our clients an unforgettable experience in Deep Sea and Estuary fishing as well as recreational charters on the Knysna Lagoon.

Deep Sea Fishing:

We use a 28 ft Butcat, fully Equipped, GPS, Radio, Fish Finder, 2 x 125 Mariner Outboard Motors. We launch summer 6am and winter 7am Daily (Weather permitting) We launch off central beach Plettenberg Bay. It takes approximately 25 minutes to reach the fishing grounds during which time you may have the opportunity of viewing marine animals such as whales, dolphins, seals and penguins in their natural habitat.

We have both Light Tackle for Game Fishing and Heavy Tackle for Bottom Fishing The species of fish we catch in our bay vary, depending on the season. In summer warm water fish are caught such as Cape Salmon and Cob. In winter we catch cold-water fish, Hake and Red Roman amongst others. Some species such as sharks are caught all year round. The trip includes a fully equipped 5-hour fishing adventure. Experienced deck hands will assist you with baiting up etc. You may keep all fish you catch within the bag limitations.

Recreational Charrters Knysna Lagoon:

The scenic Knysna Estuary offers unsurpassed opportunities for spotted grunter, cob, bream, black tail, zebra, white steenbras, garrick and much more. Knysna has always been a much sought after destination.

The Knysna Estuary offers 6km of open water for fishing, enjoyment water sports and sightseeing. See the famous Heads of Knysna,
Featherbed Bay, Leisure and Thesens Island, visit the Knysna Oyster farm and beds, The waterfront, Crabbs Creek and Belvedere and Sandy Bay. Enjoy the beauty, serenity and bird life of this wonderful water haven. Experience the utter beauty and tranquility of this natural wonder, a haven for bird and bird lovers, sanctuary for the soul on the vast expanse of water.

Our qualified and experienced skippers and crew will host your deep sea or estuary fishing experience, catering to both seasoned anglers
and novices. We supply the whole range fishing tackle, equipment and bait for your maximum enjoyment and safety.

 The Estuary vessel is a beautiful fast comfortable 8 seater 19 ft  Mallard built, Oddisy with a large, comfortable launch seating configuration with a bright blue 12 ft sunscreen for hot days and a ample space. She is extremely stable and comfortable, with a top speed
 of 40 knots being powered by 1 x 115 Yamaha four stroke motor.

The vessel is licensed and insured with full passenger liability  insurance, qualified skipper, and seaworthy certificate and complies with the South African Maritime Safety Authority's strict requirements.
