Area, Auckland Park was developed in 1888 by New Zealander John Landau, who saw
in the area great similarities to his home town of Auckland, hence the name.
The names of the streets are all related to places along the Thames - Richmond,
Twickenham, Kingston, Finsbury and Ditton.
Altewel Self Catering Cottage is centrally located in Auckland Park and within
walking distance from both the University of Johannesburg (+- 100m from the
nearest entrance) and the SABC (+- 300m) Milpark Business School is in close
proximity. We are also within easy reach of both Milpark Hospital and Garden
City Clinic.
Campus Square Shopping Centre is within walking distance. The vibrant nightlife
and restaurants of Melville are in close proximity.
The shopping Mecca of Sandton is a mere 15 kilometers away with various other

Our accommodation encompasses a self contained second story cottage with two
bedrooms, each with two single beds and built-in cupboards. The large open plan
lounge leads to a fully equipped kitchen complete with fridge, stove, microwave
and automatic washing machine. A separate dining area flows from the kitchen
The bathroom has a shower and bath with a separate toilet. Safe undercover
parking is provided.
Dstv is provided in the lounge.
