Alvaria was a stately country residence with extensive grounds on which
horses were kept. Today Alvaria still has a large garden with old trees and
abundant bird life.
The rooms are spacious, some with there own lounge.
The reception rooms and veranda are well appointed and at the disposal of the
guests.
Alvaria is situated in the most elite street in Bloemfontein and has safe
parking and 24/7 street security. A shopping center is within walking distance
and offers a selection of restaurants. The city, hospital and university are ten
minutes from the guest house and very accessible roads.
Most rooms are equipped with a desk for guests who want to work or study at
night. The rooms have the best quality linen and towels, on a heated towel rail,
as well as tea/coffee and DSTV. During the winter each bed has an electric
blanket.
Two rooms have an extra bed in to accommodate families.
A full English breakfast is served and an evening meal on request.
