A beautiful avenue of plane trees leads on up to Barland with its beautiful
country garden. Barland offers you rest, relaxation, privacy, and tranquility.
"Rose Cottage" is a very pretty thatched cottage with its own private entrance,
and pretty fenced garden. The cottage consists of one bedroom with a double bed,
and two single day beds in the lounge area. DStv is provided. There is a dining
room, kitchen and the bathroom consists of a very spacious shower, hand basin
and toilet. The kitchen is spacious with a gas stove, microwave and
fridge/freezer as well as everything you will need in a self catering cottage. A
deck overlooks the garden and the surrounding hills, perfect for those afternoon
sundowners. A Webber is provided.
A tennis court is available as well as a fenced swimming pool. Enjoy magnificent
walks and bird-watching in exquisite countryside or along the banks of the
Umgeni River. Barland is situated well away from the hustle and bustle, but
close enough to the action of the Meander. We are ten minutes from Midmar Dam,
twenty minutes from Pietermaritzburg and an hour and a half from the Southern
Central Berg (an easy day trip). Durban is only an hour and a quarter away. We
are in close proximity to Private Schools such as St Anne's, Hilton College and
Michaelhouse. There are a number of restaurants in the area.
Bathroom towels are provided but please provide your swimming towels.
