A luxury accommodation at affordable rates. Bhangazi Lodge is set in the
scenic, tranquil tropical St. Lucia town, surrounded by the iSimangaliso Wetland
Park (formerly Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park), a unique World Heritage Site
since December 1999 by the UNESCO protocol.
We offer 4 comfortable en suite guest bedrooms, each with a private patio &
entrance. All rooms have air-conditioning, TV, mosquito nets, ceiling fan,
hairdryer, safety deposit box, complimentary tea & coffee facility etc. There is
a large swimming pool as well as sufficient and secure parking on the premise.
There are excellent restaurants in St. Lucia, which are located on the main Road
(McKenzie Street) and from Bhangazi Lodge within walking distance. One can also
walk in approx. 15 minutes to the unspoilt beaches of St. Lucia.
From 08:00 a.m. until 09:30 a.m. daily we serve a delicious and healthy
breakfast (also for Vegetarians), which includes fresh fruit salad, assorted
yoghurt, 4 types of cereals incl. muesli, cornflakes etc., percolated & instant
coffee, variety of teas, milk, bread, cold meat platter & cheese etc.
Complimentary coffee and tea is always available in the guest rooms as well as
in the public area (lounge).
We do also offer laundry service and have exclusively for our guests an
'Internet station' available in the lounge as well WIFI for guests who would
like to bring their own computer (e.g. laptop).
Bhangazi Lodge was the first star graded establishment in the year 2001 in St.
Lucia. The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA) awarded Bhangazi
Lodge a 4-star rating in the category Bed and Breakfast (B&B). Bhangazi Lodge is
also a proud member of the Portfolio Bed and Breakfast Collection for 8 years
already. Bhangazi Lodge is also registered with TKZN (Tourism KwaZulu-Natal) as
well as with NAA (National Accommodation Association).
The Big5 Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve is just 55 km away from St. Lucia,
entering the Nyalazi Gate. The Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve is the oldest Game
Reserve in South Africa, proclaimed as a Game Reserve in 1895. There one can
find 50% of the entire White Rhino population in the world.
For our guests' convenience we offer a complimentary snorkelling gear (mask &
snorkel) for their personal snorkelling experience at Cape Vidal with its
protected coral reefs, nature walks and the second highest vegetated sand dunes
in the world. We are also more than happy to arrange tours and trips for you,
e.g. seasonal Turtle watching (from November to March), seasonal Whale watching
(from June to November), a Hippo & Crocodile boat tour on the St. Lucia Estuary,
Deep-Sea fishing tours, guided Kayaking tours on the St. Lucia Estuary,
Horseback riding trips, Bicycle tours, traditional Zulu Village tours, Night
Safari, Game drives, Birding, Golfing and much more. It is about a 2 hours drive
to Sodwana Bay for guests who would like to go for Scuba diving.
Child policy: Children are welcome and the rate charged for children is
generally the same as for adults. Please enquire for further arrangements.
