will find this beautiful Equestrian Estate and Stud Farm situated in Polokwane
(old Pietersburg). We offer self-catering and catered accommodation right on the
doorstep of the city. The property offers a tranquil atmosphere, with the
Colonial style homestead that was built in 1916.The new Mall of the North is
just 3 km away and Thornhill Shopping Centre is within 3 minutes of the
property; the Cycad, Platinum and Savannah Shopping Centres are within 5 minutes
from the property. We are located 5 minutes away from Gateway International
Airport. The new sports stadium is also within close proximity and can be
quickly reached using the new bypass.
Guests can enjoy country accommodation as a refreshing alternative to the hustle
and bustle of the city.No more listening to unpleasant road noise all around you
in the evenings. Pure peace and tranquillity.
Should you wish to order dinner, our meals are home cooked and delicious; and
are served to you in the comfort of your own unit. Broadlands is home from home.
Our accommodation consists of unique, quaint country style cottages with elegant
décor and comfortable furnishings. All accommodation offers self-catering
facilities that are well equipped; as well as the option of Bed and Breakfast.
Units include a Thatch cottage, a cozy Wooden cabin, a Colonial style cottage;
our Owl Hideout" which is above our main lapa; as well as 3 rooms en suite.
For those wanting to experience real nocturnal magic under our Limpopo skies,
you can stay in our tented camp. We have warm and cozy safari tents ". Tents
sleep 2 and are fully serviced. The rustic camp has a small kitchen with a gas
cooker and microwave for guests. Crockery and cutlery are provided. Tented camp
guests are able to make use of our lapa and braai facilities up near the camp.
This facility can also be made use of by school groups on summer camps and can
accommodate 12 guests comfortably.
For the business men and women; after a tough day at the office we offer you the
opportunity to take a leisurely walk on our 5 km walking track. For the fitness
fanatics and healthy bodies; you can cycle our track on a mountain bike or take
a 5 km jog. For the real adventurous, join one of our experienced Instructors on
a sunset outride on horseback. Here, you will experience African indigenous bush
surroundings and view wild cats from horseback.
Alternatively, take a leisurely walk on our 45 hectare estate and view warthog
families, duikers and guinea fowl. Broadlands has a fantastic variety of bird
species.
For our younger guests, pony rides are available.
Private social day functions can be accommodated in our 2 thatch lapas. We have
a catering company who are able to cater for all functions on the premises
during the day. For those with an African spirit, unique, magical and truly
traditional South African braais and potjies are offered under our spectacular
night sky stars. Dance and sing with our African staff around a camp fire.
For horse lovers and owners, you can book your pony/horse in to Broadlands, and
make use of our fantastic facilities. Broadlands Equestrian Centre is an
affiliated yard with The Gauteng Horse Society. We have show jumping,
equitation, working riding, dressage and a lunging arena for horse riding
enthusiasts. We have recently added a cross country course and so now also offer
eventing.
Our tranquil environment offers the business and leisure traveller, the ideal
opportunity to experience total tranquility in relaxing surroundings on the
doorstep of the capital of the North. This is also a malaria free region.
Goose Cottage
Luxury Accommodation
Goose Cottage offers very comfortable accommodation. It consists of a main
bedroom with a queen bed, compact DSTV satellite facilities. Off the main room
is a smaller room with 2 single beds. The bathroom has a jet bath and a large
shower. The lounge/dinning - kitchen area is large. The lounge has a fireplace
for cold, winter evenings. The unit has a Weber braai on the verandah. Here, you
feel very much part of the Equestrian Estate as you look out from your back door
on to one of our main arenas.
Woodpecker Cabin
Self - catering accommodation or Bed & Breakfast
Woodpecker Cabin is cute and cozy. It offers very comfortable accommodation. It
consists of a main bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom is fitted with a
shower. The lounge/dinning - kitchen area is very comfortable. There are compact
DSTV satellite facilities in the cabin. The unit has also has braai facilities.
This cabin is very private and you feel as if you are in a wooden cabin in the
woods.
Guinea Fowl Thatch Cottage
Self - catering accommodation or Bed & Breakfast
Guinea Fowl Cottage offers very comfortable accommodation. It is decorated in
true African style, where you feel very much part of the African bushveld. It
consists of a main bedroom with a queen bed, a second bedroom with a double bed
& a third room with 2 single beds. The bathroom has a bath and shower. There is
a separate toilet (not part of the bathroom). The lounge/dinning - kitchen area
is large. The lounge has compact DSTV satellite facilities. The unit has a Weber
braai on the verandah.
Pheasant Room

Pheasant Room is situated alongside the main 1916 Colonial-style homestead.
Pheasant Room offers very comfortable accommodation. It is decorated in a modern
in fashion. It consists of a main bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom is
modern and new with a shower. It offers self catering facilities. The room is
fitted with a TV offering SABC 1, 2, 3 & E.TV.
Quail Room
B&B only
Quail Room is situated off the main 1916 Colonial-style homestead. Quail Room
offers very comfortable accommodation. It is decorated in a modern-old fashion.
There is a big verandah off the room with a separate entrance at the back of the
main homestead. It consists of a main bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom is
modern and new with a shower. It has an old basement cellar going off it,
which in past days served as a meat & cheese curing room. Your breakfast is
served on the verandah.
Rose & Stallion Budget Accommodation
Self catering
The Rose & Stallion is a cozy room up at the stable block that has a small front
garden off it. It sleeps a couple; being fitted with a double bed.
There is a small bathroom with a shower. It is also a self-catering facility.
Braai and lapa facilities are nearby. The room is fitted with a TV offering SABC
1, 2, 3 & E.TV.
The Owl Hideout Budget Accommodation
Self catering
The Owl & Hideout is a very cozy and warm room situated above our main lapa. It
sleeps 2 sharing and also has a double sleeper couch within the room. There is a
small bathroom with a shower. It is also a self-catering facility. Braai and
lapa facilities are nearby. The unit has compact DSTV satellite services.
THE MARULA TENTED CAMP
Fully serviced rustic tented camp.
Marula Camp sleeps 12.
This is a fully serviced camp with bedding provided. The safari tents are well
kitted out and are very warm and cozy; especially during the winter months.
Additional bedding is provided. The tents have single beds in and are very
comfortable. We have a rustic kitchen with gas cooking facilities for you. There
is an electric kettle, a small electric oven and microwave at your
disposal. All crockery and cutlery is supplied. The ablution block offers
a men's' and a ladies' bathroom. Both bathrooms are fitted with 3 toilets and a
shower in each. The facilities are new and clean.
There are braai facilities. The camp includes the big enclosed lapa as well as a
cozy camp fire under the stars.
