Situated on the outskirts of the village overlooking an apricot orchard with
lovely views of Badge Hill, and a 5 minute walk from small shops and
restaurants, our two thatched cottages are situated on 1500m2 of land, and are
simply perfect for a romantic getaway for couples or refreshing break for small
families or groups.
Pear Tree Cottage:
Situated a 5 minute stroll from the centre of McGregor & bordering apricot
orchards, this dinky thatch cob cottage for two offers a luxurious queen bed in
spacious tiled sleeping area with overhead fan, open plan to tiled living area
with leather couch for two and a cheery ceramic Firepot Fireplace. There is a
separate fully fitted kitchenette complete with small fridge, hob & microwave,
as well as a charming bathroom with shower, washbasin & toilet. The vine covered stoep has a rustic outdoor picnic table & braai & overlooks a pretty, private
garden with seating set under shady trees with mountain views. There is a
television set, a CD /DVD player (a selection of DVD's are available on
request). TV / DSTV is available if you bring your own Smartcard. Self Catering

Willow Cottage:
Situated next to a huge weeping willow tree, Willow cottage is a characterful
cottage with a slate tiled living room consisting of a 3 seater leather couch
and built in Fireplace set in sandstone clad feature wall, dining area with oval
oak 2- 4 seater dining table open plan to a pretty country style kitchen fully
equipped for self catering and with 2 small fridges, two plate stainless steel hob,
microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a CD/DVD player as well as a TV with SABC 1, 2 , 3, TBN & eTV via satellite - please bring your own smartcard (or
decoder if you have the new 1110 model) if you wish to watch DSTV.
The romantic upstairs sleeping loft is accessed via traditional loft stairs and
has a luxurious queen size bed with crisp, snow white percale linen and a
buttercup yellow throw.
The beautiful slate tiled bathroom has an enormous double shower and built in
slate vanity.
The patio has a wooden picnic table and a built in braai, and overlooks a very pretty
garden with shady trees across an apricot orchard to the mountains.
The Rose Room (sleeps 2) - may only be hired in conjunction with Willow
Cottage
The Rose Room is an additional downstairs bedroom to Willow cottage which sleeps
2 in luxurious twin three quarter beds and has double French doors opening onto
the large stoep with views across the pretty garden to the hills. The slate
tiled living room with large open fireplace set in a sandstone wall, and
beautiful slate tiled bathroom with extra large double shower is shared between
the 2 bedrooms. There is an extra large stoep with built in braai which
overlooks the garden to the mountains.

Situated 15 minutes from Robertson in the Valley of Wine & Roses - less than 2
hours from Cape Town on Route 62 - the historic village of Mcgregor is a gentle,
timeless place surrounded by mountains & reminiscent of a bygone era - country
roads, olive groves & vineyards, timeworn whitewashed thatched cottages, bluer
than blue skies, crystal clear air & magnificent star studded nights.
