Situated in the historic 19th century village of McGregor, & offering up market
accommodation for couples, our tastefully decorated cottages are set in
beautiful gardens a 5 minute walk from the centre of the village. In the
tradition of olde McGregor, our cottages are not sprawling city houses but cozy
country cottages - simply perfect for two - & each cottage is fully equipped &
has a character all it's own. Each cottage has a Weber braai, & a CD /DVD player
(a selection of DVD's are available on request). TV / DSTV is available if you
bring your own Smartcard. The cottages are self catering but breakfast can be
arranged.
SUNBIRD COTTAGE - Shower under the Stars
Set in it's own rose filled garden shaded by a large oak tree & enclosed by dry
stone walls, this picture perfect Cape Georgian style cottage, complete with
vine shaded stoep, has a two seater leather couch & trendy Firepot, overhead
fan, a fully fitted kitchenette (small fridge, hob & microwave), stylish queen
bed & romantic open plan oval bath for two (there is a screen & separate toilet
for the modest!), as well as a rustic stone outside shower open to the stars.
HOOPOE COTTAGE - Out of Africa
Attached to the main residence, this beautiful Cape Georgian style cottage is
named after the exquisite birds that frequent the beautiful garden. Decorated in
Afro chic style, the sandstone tiled bedroom has a luxurious queen bed &
overhead fan, & is open plan to the lounge which has an open fireplace & fully
fitted Oregon kitchenette (small fridge, hob & microwave). The exquisite
sandstone en suite bathroom has a shower & double oval bath. French doors open
onto a private stoep with outdoor table & chairs looking onto a lovely garden
with the Riviersonderend mountains as a backdrop.
THE GUINEA FOWL ROOM (sleeps 2) - may only be hired in conjunction with Hoopoe
Cottage
The Guinea Fowl Room is an optional separate bedroom with luxurious double
bed (sleeps 2) and has a separate entrance, small fridge and tea & coffee tray.
Hoopoe and The Guinea Fowl Room share the sandstone tiled living room with large
open fireplace and fully equipped kitchenette and are linked via the beautiful
sandstone bathroom which has a shower and gorgeous oval bath for two.
ADDITIONAL OUTSIDE ENTERTAINMENT AREA
Sunbird & Hoopoe Cottages - whilst completely independent of each other - are
situated on the same property & also have access to a wonderful outdoor
entertainment area nestled under large trees & complete with picnic tables, fish
pond and braai area with scenic views.

Situated 15 minutes from Robertson in the Valley of Wine & Roses - 2 hours from
Cape Town on Route 62 - the historical 19th century village of Mcgregor is a
gentle, timeless place surrounded by mountains & reminiscent of a bygone era -
country roads, olive groves & vineyards, timeworn whitewashed thatched cottages,
bluer than blue skies, crystal clear air & magnificent star studded nights.
