Casa Mia is a country farm house with cottages scattered throughout the3
hectare sprawling tropical gardens.
There are two cosy self-catering 3 star thatched cottages. The spacious units
are equipped with DSTV, two bathrooms each and a comfortable lounge. Both sleep
6.
There is also a 4 bedroom house which is ideal for large groups as it sleeps 10.
Each unit is independent from the other and settled in different part of the 50
year old tranquil gardens offering privacy.
Enjoy hearty farm-style breakfasts whilst bird watching in the gardens and
scrumptious 3 course dinners served in the main house or gardens. Vegetarian
cooking is available on request. Dinners may also be enjoyed at the Ntonga club
at the Sugar Mill or at the Golf Club in the village.
Wake up to the sounds of birds: over 1000 bird species have been recorded in the
garden alone. There is also a sparkling pool, and art gallery. Casa Mia is pet
and wheelchair friendly.
DSTV/ Satellite TV, secure parking and Internet facilities are available.
Day visitors: Delicious lunches are served in the garden for group bookings
whilst passing through Pongola.

Casa Mia is a comfortable stopover for guests on their way to major game
reserves and neighboring countries.
Casa Mia is 8km outside the busy village of Pongola. N2 Mkuze, Durban direction.
2,7km from the Sugar Mill, Rd D1935, N2 turn off, through TSB Sugar Village.
From 6pm-6am security provided. Ask permission for Casa Mia entrance at the boom
gate. Carry straight on Jones street.( cement road) past chapel continue on farm
road with sugar cane on either side, turn left at stone entrance”Casa Mia”.
This road continues for 1km and is a dead end into the Pongola River.

Day visits off the beaten track are popular whilst traditional village life can
also be observed. The monthly Mona Craft and Pottery Market attracts craft
buyers from all over the province. Arts & Crafts in Pongola town offers tours to
rural schools. Afterwards groups are entertained by local Zulu dancers and
offered local cuisine. Group bookings are essential.
The annual Tiger fish competition during the long weekend of September is very
popular as well as the annual Bikers weekend in June.
The Pongola Garden club offers an annual "Pongola Open Gardens". This is also a
very special weekend on the calendar.
The Sugar mill can also be visited by prior bookings. TSB Sugar offers tennis,
squash, bowls and swimming for the more energetic.
Ntonga Restaurant is open 6 days a week except Sundays.
A lovely 9 hole golf course and club house in town is also available. "The 19th
Hole" fine dining restaurant and bar is not to be missed. The restaurant is open
for delicious lunches. Closed on Mondays.
