Our thatch roof house is situated approximately 50 m from the fence on the Crocodile River's Bank overlooking the Kruger Park. It is our personal house which we sublet for our guests to enjoy.
The house is surrounded by bush and is away from neighbours having Marloth Park land on two sides. Wild animals like Warthog, Kudu, Zebra, Impala, Wildebeest, and Giraffe etc. roam freely around the house inside Marloth Park.
Animals that come to the river inside the Kruger Park can be viewed from our viewing deck.
There are also benches along the river fence from where animals in the Kruger Park can be viewed in safety.
There are two garages one indoor and one outdoor (under roof).
Croc River View has three floors: The ground floor with a lounge and TV and two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a four bunkbed room. There is a braai area outside on ground level.
The first floor is at tree top height overlooking the bush. There is one double bedroom on the first floor with bathroom, shower, bath and outdoor shower for those who wish to shower in Mother Nature. The main lounge/ living area and kitchen with all amenities, stove, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher are on this floor as well. Three large concertina doors open up the sides and front. The front overlooks the Kruger Park and Crocodile River.
The first floor front veranda includes a braai area and a potjie as well as a 1.5 m deep splash pool which is open at tree top height and open plan with lounge and kitchen. Pool temperature is 18ºC in winter and up to 30ºC in summer.
Whether in the kitchen, lounge pool or at the braai you are in an open plan area and in contact with the family and friends. You are literally in the bush.
There is a small pond with a running "pot" water feature in front to attract birds and animals.
There is a TV with DSTV on the first floor. NB: There is no Wi-Fi yet but there is cell phone reception.
We have planted a lot of indigenous trees to attract birds and we are in the process of changing the surroundings to attract more wildlife. Bat nests have been placed strategically outside to attract them away from the house. Nagapies (bush babies) reside in the nook of the viewing deck.
For safety our house has two alarm systems, one which arms the entire house when away and one which you can arm at night time and when asleep.
All 3 double bedrooms have air conditioning with 8 hour timers. Please switch them off when going into the park or when away on a day trip. The bunk room has a fan.
