Once you turn off the Fouriesburg-Clarens road onto the farm,Caledon River. The guest farm has the best position of this wonderland - snuggling up against the curve of a craggy old mountain.

This self-catering sandstone cottage has an en suite main bedroom, another bedroom, bathroom, a spacious and airy lounge and dining room and a real country style kitchen with real charm (the modern conveniences are all there - microwave, stove, kettle, fridge, toaster, but it is cunningly positioned not to spoil the atmosphere).

A stoep, a wide grassy terrace and a truly marvelous braai area make for easy, enthralling all-day and late-night enjoyment of nature and life.

In the valley there are enchanting trails, the world famous "fertility cave" and above average trout fishing in the river.

Bring your hiking boots, your walking stick, binoculars, backpack or just a fine book, easy music and fine companionship (there is ample room for six adults). Don't put yourself out by packing linen or towels - DeLusthof is well-stocked with these.

DeLusthof is twenty kilometres from Clarens, the quintessential "quaint village" with its impressive array of galleries, eateries and bric a brac shop. We are right on the doorstep of Lesotho - the drive to Katse Dam is an easy but exhilarating outing that takes a whole day. Or you can meander through the breathtaking Golden Gate National Park.
