Experience tranquillity at the West Coast
Hear, see and smell the sea from our holiday home (De Oude Muragie) which was first built in 1875 and was restored in 2007. The local residents called it
"The little Jewel of Paternoster". The house is one of a handful of original fisherman's cottages saved by the Heritage Council.
The dune contains significant archaeological heritage remains of human occupation dating back 3000 to 2000 years. An excavation site, made by the Dept of Archaeology is on the property, showing a shell midden which was formed by the Kohekohes, who used to camp and eat shellfish and white mussels on the dune.
