Location
Our guest house is in the elegant George and some outstanding restaurants.

The House
The historic gabled house dates from the early 19th century and still has the original yellow wood floors and ceilings. The magnificent lounge with Victorian fireplace (in use on cold rainy days) is furnished traditionally. The breakfast room is bright and sunny with a view on the garden and there we serve our hearty breakfasts.

We have seven en suite guest rooms each with its own character and charm, all equipped with heaters, coffee/tea trays, television (M-Net) and other special treats.

The patio overlooks the lovely garden and swimming pool.

Attractions
The house is ideally situated for both business people and tourists who visit the garden route, Victoria Bay are all within easy reach. George also offers lovely park, forest and mountain hikes and a selection of some of the best golf courses in the country. The interesting George Museum is close by. Local tours, power van trips up the mountain, the Outeniqua Choo-Choo steam train to Knysna and back can all be arranged. Surfing, diving, fishing, paragliding and hang gliding are some other special attractions.

Hosts
Your hosts Johan and Madeleine Smuts and family live in a renovated railway shed adjacent to the guest house. As we also love travelling we shall gladly assist you with advice and bookings.

With our personal and informal approach we wish your stay to be unforgettable, as one of our Irish guests remarked "this feels real".
