Tant Kappie:
We refurbished this cottage when we first started offering accommodation fifteen
years ago. It was the home of Tant (Aunt) Kappie, who, with her husband and
family, settled in this valley in the early nineteen hundreds, one of the first
farming families to do so. In those days the valley's inhabitants would travel
by horse and cart to attend church services. Tant Kappie got her nickname
because she would insist on walking the 15 kilometres to Rawsonville - and back
- with her fair skin protected by a bonnet or "kappie".
Tant Sarie
This refurbished cottage, also built at the turn of the last century, was the
home of Mrs Sarie Viljoen, who sold Dwarsberg farm to the Stofberg family in
1975.
Oom Ed
Named after Oom (Uncle) Ed Herbst, a friend of the family whose magazine
articles played a significant role in bringing to the attention of a wider
audience the peace, tranquility and excellent fly fishing that Dwarsberg Trout
Hideaway has to offer.
Oom Tom
This recently built cottage has an open plan kitchen and living area with two
single beds on the ground floor. Upstairs are two seperate bedrooms - one with
