The Elusive Camel is situated in Chaka's Rock, approx 150m from
Salt Rock's main beach, which offers life guards, on duty, 7 days a week. Enjoy the expanse of magnificent beaches along the Dolphin Coast. Swim in the warm Indian Ocean waters or dive/snorkel the beautiful offshore reefs. If that's too much, just relax and enjoy the beauty, while searching the waves for the playful bottlenose dolphins which frequent our warm waters - you may even see a whale or two. The coastline has something for everyone, surfing, fishing, tidal pools, kite flying and more recently para surfing! The Salt Rock Hotel, with its swimming pool and tidal pool and the small shopping complex and restaurants are within walking distance of the Elusive Camel.
Elusive Camel Self Catering "Suites"
The Elusive Camel comprises, 4 individual, well furnished, fully equipped, comfortable, self catering "suites". Each suite consists of either 1 or 2 bedrooms, separate bathroom & toilet, living room and kitchenette. All linen is provided (except beach towels and dish cloths). The kitchenette is fully equipped with crockery and cutlery, stove, microwave and fridge/freezer. Included is colour TV with select DStv channels, ownBraai facilities and secure parking (1 vehicle per suite). Units are serviced daily (except Sundays and Public Holidays), this does not include dishes or laundry. A laundry facility is available on request at a nominal fee.
1st Suite (sleeps 6 to 8 persons)
2 Bedrooms - (option of 3rd, 2 sleeper bedroom, adjoining the main bedroom at an extra R50 per day), full bathroom with bath and shower and separate toilet. Fully equipped kitchenette, combined dining and living room. Small, private garden with Braai facility.
2nd Suite (sleeps 6 persons)
2 Bedrooms, full bathroom with bath, shower and toilet combined. Open plan living room and fully equipped kitchenette. This is an upstairs unit with a balcony which boasts magnificent palms coming through and a Braai facility.
3rd Suite (sleeps 6 persons)
2 Bedrooms, full bathroom with bath and shower and separate toilet. Open plan living room and fully equipped kitchenette. Small private garden with Braai facility.
Cottage (sleeps 3)
Nestled in the back, under huge palm trees, is a small 1 bedroom cottage with an on suite shower and toilet (no bath), a combined living room and kitchenette. A sleeper couch in the lounge allows for any unexpected additional guests or small children who may accompany you! Small private garden with a Braai facility
Chaka's Rock is within 15 to 30 minutes of some world class golf courses - namely
Zimbali, Shortens Country Club amongst others.
Gateway Shopping Centre - the largest shopping centre in Southern Hemisphere - is 25 minutes away and offers an excellent shopping experience, wave machine, skate park, 16 movie houses an Imax theatre, ten pin bowling, games arcades and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
The Kingdom, for a culture fusion, offers "three cultures on one estate", that is Zulu, Indian and Colonial in architecture, shopping, food and entertainment. Daily entertainment, multi media and live cultural presentations, guided tours, themed evening dinners. This experience will transport you into the true heart of Kwa Zulu Natal.
The Dolphin Coast and surrounding area, offers a host of activities for everyone, Crocodile farm, Microlight Flights, Sugar Mill Casino, Flea Markets and Night Clubs, which will keep you entertained for the duration of your stay.
