Erin is a place of stoeps, sunsets, stars and silence, on the N9, 10km south of Middelburg Karoo. Middelburg stands on the eastern edge of the Great Karoo, which is the vast central plateau of South Africa, with landscapes on a grand scale, sweeping skies and wide horizons.
Homestead Bed & Breakfast
The Edwardian homestead, built in the early 1900's has withstood the harsh elements of Africa and her thick walls have given sanctuary to many. Two comfortable and spacious en-suite double rooms, one with bath and one with shower, are available as well as TV and coffee/tea facilities in the guest lounge. The Homestead is set in a rustic Karoo garden.
Farm Cottages
Two double open-plan farm cottages with showers and fully equipped kitchenettes as well as outside braai facility offer a self-catering or bed & breakfast option. Both cottages overlook the gentle slopes of Renosterberg, where one can marvel at heaven's palette during a crimson African-sunset.
Barn Restaurant (open by prior arrangement)
The cosy restaurant and quaint bar are in the original farm barn, adjacent to the homestead. Enjoy a hearty traditional Karoo dinner; sit around the bonfire and sip an after dinner liqueur whilst gazing at a star-studded night sky. For smaller parties, dinner & breakfast are served in the Homestead farm kitchen.
