With the grandeur of the majestic Drakensberg mountains dominating the horizon
to the west and the green and gold of the sub-tropical Indian Ocean coast an
easy 90 minutes drive along the N3, Hawklee is a haven of tranquility that
offers a springboard to all that KwaZulu-Natal offers. There are over a hundred
places of interest within easy driving distances of Hawklee along the Midlands
Meander - the internationally acclaimed arts and crafts route - plus a host of
natural attractions and leisure pursuits right on our doorstep.
Our cottages are designed to give comfort and privacy all feature Jacuzzi spa
baths and offer beautiful views over the Lions River. For those special
occasions we offer our Honeymoon suite together with Hawklee's very own dash of
extra luxury and pampering.
We offer a Table d'hôte menu in our dinning room with log fire to keep the chill
at bay, as well as a deck with spectacular views where guests can relax and
enjoy balmy summer evenings.

The Midlands Meander - an internationally acclaimed arts and craft route -
offers over a hundred ports of call, and there is a host of natural attractions
and leisure pursuits within easy driving distance, including the largest
concentration of historic battlefields in the southern hemisphere, nature and
wildlife reserves, and Zulu cultural experiences.
On the doorstep are scenic riverside walks, swimming in clear rock pools,
amiable country rambles and rewarding birding opportunities. The more energetic
will indulge in cycle touring, horse trails, fly-fishing and the opportunity to
play the nearby golf courses.
