Come and break away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city life, and enjoy
real country hospitality and peace & quiet on this Free State farm.
Hermanus, a farm owned by Andriette Snyman, is situated 30 km south of
Kroonstad.
The Hermanus Cottage is situated in a fully fenced game camp adjacent to a
large dam.
The Cottage offers the following accommodation:
- On the top level; one private room with twin beds, one open plan room
with four single beds, one bathroom with bath, basin and toilet.
- On the ground level; two private bedrooms each with double beds, one
also has a baby cot, whilst the other also has another single bed. Another
bathroom, with bath, basin, shower and a separate toilet is also located on
the ground level. Please bring your own towels.
The fully equipped kitchen, which is part of the open plan dining and living
area, contains a refrigerator, deepfreeze, microwave, gas stove as well as
crockery and utensils. This living area also features a very attractive wooden
staircase an inside BBQ area with bar and an open fireplace for the cold Free
State winters. The outside BBQ area and wooden deck have spectacular views of
the dam. DSTV is also included. The cottage is equipped with a security alarm
system. Parking is available on site.
A variety of antelope (Lechwe's, Waterbuck, Oryx, Impala and Springbok) can all
be found around the cottage. A large variety of birds, such as Egyptian Geese,
Spurwing Goose, Great White Egret, African Spoonbill and Yellow bill and Black
stork can all be seen.
Get an early morning surprise with abundance of game grazing around the cottage.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the dam, and at the end of the
day enjoy a sundowner and see how the setting sun will colour the surface of the
perfect still waters of the dam. Enjoy a good BBQ around a big campfire and
listen to the sounds of the night under the clear and sparkling stars.
