Highcliffe House in Gordon's Bay in the Helderberg Basin, part of the Winelands,
is a beautiful spacious and inviting home situated on the mountainside and
offers panoramic views across False Bay to Table Mountain and the Cape
Peninsula, as well as providing outstanding views of the surrounding Helderberg
and Hottentots Holland Mountains. It is only minutes away from a number of
hiking trails and excellent safe and sandy beaches, including the Blue Flag
Bikini Beach. Whale and Dolphin watching is a feature of this beautiful area and
Gordon's Bay has been designated as the start of the Whale Coast Route.
Gordon's Bay is central to all attractions of the Western Cape and is within a
45 minute drive of central Cape Town and 25 minutes from the International
Airport. The start of the Helderberg Wine Route is less than 5 minutes away and
the wine estates of the Stellenbosch, Paarl , Franschhoek and Constantia regions
are all within easy driving distance, as are number of South Africa’s top
restaurants.. There are five superb championship golf courses close by, as well
as a Vodacom Driving Range which is next door to the Somerset Mall Shopping
Centre, which is within a 10 minute drive along Strand Beach Road.
Our three luxurious, self-contained apartments have their own entrances and off-road parking. They also have access to the braai-room, swimming pool, and sun-filled patio where you can laze on comfortable loungers, while soaking up the sun by the pool.
The Merlot suite is a spacious one-bedroom apartment, with a large fully equipped kitchen / dining area, fireplace in the comfortable lounge and a built-in braai on the balcony - a cool place to site with a chilled glass of wine, enjoying the breathtaking sea and mountain views. The large bedroom has a queensize bed, fitted wardrobes and a full en-suite bathroom with separate shower.
The Riesling Suite is a large two-bedroom apartment, with fabulous sea views across False Bay. The huge main bedroom has an en-suite shower room, kingsize bed, fitted wardrobe, and a comfortable seating area - the perfect place to enjoy the wonderful sunsets over the sea. The spacious second bedroom has two three-quarter beds, fitted wardrobe and a full en-suite bathroom with separate shower. The Pinotage Suite is a large one-bedroom apartment with a kingsize bed in the en-suite bedroom, and a sleeper couch in the large lounge. The spacious bathroom has a 'slipper bath' and a large separate shower. The modern kitchen is fully fitted and
equipped, has granite tops and a bar counter, plus there is a separate dining area. The comfortable lounge has a fireplace, and opens onto a private patio with braai facilities, adjacent to the swimming pool.
All suites are luxuriously furnished to a high standard, with satellite television, DVD, Hi-Fi, lockable safes, ceiling fans and heaters. There are hair dryers in all the bedrooms and the suites are serviced Monday to Saturday. Telephone, fax and e-mail facilities are available. Airport transfers and car hire can be arranged.
The British owners, Jane & Jim Yeomans, have travelled extensively and lived in South Africa for many years. They will ensure that your stay at Highcliffe House will be so comfortable and relaxing that you just won't want to leave this little piece of paradise.

Directions: From Cape Town Int. Airport, take the N2 north towards Kleinmond. Follow the road into Gordon's Bay, and just before the T-junction at the end, turn left into Boundary Road. Proceed up the hill to the top, and Highcliffe House is on the corner of Boundary and Bulbine Road, on the left.
Highcliffe House has been given SA Grading Council 4-Star rating and AA Superior rating. We regret that we cannot take children or pets, and we run a non-smoking establishment.
