After a "cruisey" 35 minute drive from Durban you arrive at House on the Beach, at Widenham/Umkomaas. And it is quite simply that..fortunately it sits high enough up on the point for one to escape the moist sea air and enjoy the vista that this exceptionally located property has to offer. 59 steps from the front beach gate and you are on the high tide mark. The most alluring point to this property is its outdoor entertainment area. Shielded from the elements you can still lie on the Daybed and gaze all the way back to Umhlanga (some 80 kms away) with all the interlocking bays and points rolling out for as far as the eye can see. This is truly South Coast.

The property is on 2400 m2 (half an acre) of land, children can ride bikes, play cricket or even pitch a tent on the rolling lawns. The swimming pool is perfectly located on the front of the property. While you having a braai you can watch your children playing in the surf (although not a protected beach, the locals have been swimming here for generations) or rock pools below. If you are an avid diver you can watch the many dive charters racing in and out of the Umko River Mouth which is less than a kilometer away and assess the conditions for yourself. The rock and surf angling in front of the House is often featured on the popular ESPN fishing programme, so bring your fishing gear you won t be disappointed! A BP 24/7 convenience store is a barefooted 2 minute walk away, Umkomaas is a 2 minute drive away.

The property consists of a main house that has three queen sized air con rooms and 2 bathrooms. One of which is a Ball and Claw Bathroom for the ladies to relax in after a tough day on the beach. There are 2 outside rooms, one is a King sized extra length bed ensuite with aircon, the other has 2 single beds and is also ensuite. The Carelady stays on site in a separate little cottage and services the premises twice daily for 2 hours. There is also a fully operating DSTV signal so don t stress about bringing decoders and stuff with you.

To put your mind at ease the property is secured by an electric fence, armed response and trellis doors. I own 2 extremely large dogs that live with me next door but also can stroll both properties at night if requested. The property is pet friendly within reason, a dog smaller that a miniature daschhund could make it through the fence.
