Self Catering Log Cabin Accommodation
In Illovo, On The KwaZulu-Natal
South Coast, South Africa
Illovo River lodge is situated at the mouth of the river so each of the log
cabins have a magnificent sea and river view, and for the early birds stunning
sunrises. All this can be appreciated from the undercover deck on the cabins.
Apart form the views you can sit and relax, watch and listen to the bird life
(fish eagles nest along the banks of the river) and if you are lucky watch the
dolphins and whales. July is the time for the sardine run when you can watch it
all happening from the deck with the gulls diving into the shoals.
Each cabin consists of 2 bedrooms both with full en suite bathrooms, lounge and
fitted kitchen fully equipped for self catering with stove/oven, fridge,
microwave, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery. The bedrooms & lounge all have
ceiling fans. These cabins accommodate up to 6 people.
A Honeymoon suite is also available
We have 2 braai areas, one under a shady old mahogany tree and the other at the
pool area.
The property has remote controlled security gates as well as being lit up at
night to give you peace of mind.
Leisure Activities in the area
Access to the unspoilt beach & river mouth is a mere short walk. Safe swimming
beaches are only minutes away. For the adventurous scuba diving is available 10
minutes down the road in Umkomaas where you can explore the well known Aliwal
Shoal. We also have Crocworld a little further down and needless to say a couple
of golf courses for the golfing enthusiasts.
Into Durban there is the fantastic Ushaka for the whole family but if you don’t
want to go that far we have a new shopping center in the area with all the shops
you need plus cinemas, restaurants and a skating rink.
