Attractions:
The Menlo Park Shopping Centre has everything from clothing and food to banking facilities and restaurants. The popular Performer Theatre which has been host to many top South African artists and musicians includes top class shows and a spectacular menu, should not be missed while visiting Menlo Park. Another interesting place to visit is the historic Freedom Park which is a monument to democracy in South Africa and includes a symbolic burial ground, a rememberance wall of those who sacrificed their lives in the fight against freedom and a gallery of leaders. Another attraction is the well known sand-stone Union Building in Pretoria which is known to represent the unity of the two cultures achieved since the Anglo Boer War. It is not open to the public but is admired from the beautiful surrounding gardens. The Pioneer Museum in Silverton is an interesting visit for the whole family to enjoy as they learn how to grind wheat, bake bread, roast coffee, make candles and you may even get to try the milking for yourself.
