Monumentpark
Monumentpark is an upmarket suburb in Pretoria and is approximately 40 minutes away from the international airport which makes it convenient for national and international visitors. It is also close to shopping malls and restaurants.

Monumentpark is close to shopping malls and you will have a choice of fine restaurants to eat out with the whole family. There is a golf course nearby where you can enjoy a relaxing 18 holes or just hit some practice balls to keep your swing in good shape while away from home. While visiting Monumentpark you will be able to visit the Voortrekker Monument Heritage Site where a granite structure has been built to commemorate the great trek of the afrikaners between 1835 and 1854. There are also ox wagon rides to experience while at the historic site. The Transvaal Museum, also known as the State Museum since 1892 is an interesting place to take the whole family for an outing, there is a collection of many interesting items such as fossils, invertebrates and semi & precious stones to name just a few. The sand-stone Union Building, completed in 1913 is mostly recognised in South Africa for its two wings of the building which symbolises the unity of the two cultures achieved since the Anglo Boer War. It is not open to the public but is admired by many visitors from the beautiful surrounding gardens.
