Champagne Valley in Kwa Zulu Natal's Drakensberg Mountains is towered over by two mountains, Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle. Accessed via the N3 through the villages of Bergville and Winterton, Champagne Valley is a popular family destination for visitors from both Gauteng and Durban.
Situated in the Mdedelo Wilderness Area of the Central Drakensberg, Champagne Valley offers many outdoor pursuits. Mountaineers are lured here by the challenging climbs and abseiling opportunities available, while family members can enjoy casual rambles through the spectacular countryside, or fishing, swimming, tubing, horse riding, golf or tennis.
Cultural entertainment is provided by the afternoon and evening concerts held by the Drakensberg Boys Choir whose reputation extends far beyond their home in Champagne Valley. These concerts can be enjoyed by the whole family as the choir's extensive repertoire includes music from all eras.
