The suburb of Athlone Park is located in the Northern part of Amanzimtoti, just south of the Amanzimtoti Country Club. The area features excellent holiday accommodation and facilities, making it one of the most popular destinations on the South Coast. Close to Athlone Park is a 7-kilometre stretch of beach, Pipeline Beach Park, that includes a Waterworld with a supertube and tidal pool. Local attractions include the Amanzimtoti Bird Sanctuary, where you can make a self-guided half-hour trail.

Close to Athlone Park is the Umbogavango Nature Reserve, that also offers some excellent bird-watching. There are plenty of activities for visitors to Athlone Park, including boat charters and rides, cycling and mountain biking, and night surfing.
