The Port Shepstone Country Club is one of the best on the South Coast, with a large variety of bird species which include Egyptian Geese, Fish Eagle, various species of Stork and Duck and large numbers of duiker and monkeys. The course also has a large variety of indigenous flora including mangroves which line some of the fairways. The club also offers tennis and bowling.

Port Shepstone has 20 kilometres of beautiful beaches stretching north and south, which provide excellent surfing.

Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve is a great place for scenic day trips, providing visitors the chance the take in all the splendours of nature with its unusual rock formations, cascading waterfalls, and excellent birdwatching opportunities.

The Port Shepstone Museum provide visitors with a glimpse into the history of the town, with a series of exhibits carrying a maritime theme including a model of the Port Shepstone harbour, details of shipping & shipwrecks along the coast, the world-famous sardine run and various Stone Age & Iron Age displays.

Other sites of historical interest include the 27,000 candle-power Port Shepstone Lighthouse which can be found at the mouth of the Mzimkulu River. The lighthouse was made 1906 of cast iron and is open to visitors.

Port Shepstone offers a wide variety of interesting restaurants which include the popular Schooners Galley serving great seafood ,or the Leopard Rock Coffee Shop situated on the Umzimkulu River Gorge providing a tranquil ambience and delicious homemade meals.
