De Aar
De Aar is one of South Africas centreal railway junctions and is the primary commercial distribution centre for the Karoo. De Aar, in Dutch, means, "artery". De Aar is well known for its sheep and livestock farming.

Attractions:
The Karoo has some of the most beautiful views and magnificent wildflowers. One of the most popular activities in De Aar is paragliding where you will get to enjoy these views of the semi desert. Also nearby De Aar you will be able to view the many ancient rock engravings and enjoy the garden of rememberance.

Climate:
De Aar falls under the Northern Cape Province where winters are warm during the day and cool in the evenings with most rainfall in the winter months too. The summers are hot to very hot and dry.
