In 1986 the workshop for the old Durban Train Station was given a facelift and became The Workshop Shopping Centre was born. The historic building was constructed in 1860 with with a huge vaulted roof supported by a towering iron girders giving The Workshop and distinctly Victorian character.
The Worksop has dozens of African curio shops offering high-quality wood carvings, paintings, jewellery and other forms of indigenous arts & craft. It's also a great place to shop for the latest South African clothing and fashion accessories. You will also find a wide selection of Indian fabrics, spices, and curries that Durban has become so famous for.
There's also a cinema, an internet cafe, lots of restaurants, tax-free jewellers, and various other services you would find in any modern shopping mall. The Workshop has plenty of secure parking as well as a free shuttle service around the Durban CBD
