A mixture of marula veld, acacia, grassland, and woodland provide home to hundreds of bird species and innumerable large mammals, including the Big Five, in this beautiful piece of African wilderness, nestled in the heart of "Kruger Country".

Thornybush is part of the Greater Kruger Park area. Although not part of Kruger Park itself, all fencing has been removed to allow animals to roam freely throughout the area.
