The Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (operating company is Primkop Airport Management Ltd.) is located 16 miles (25km) from Nelspruit at White River (North East of Nelspruit). It was opened on 30 September 2002. It links the provincial capital Nelspruit and The Kruger National Park directly with all of South Africas major cities. Its is also commonly known as Kruger Airport in the aviation and tourism industry. The runway is 3100 meters by 60 meters in size.

The South African Airways, South African Airlink (Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg) and South Africa Express (Johannesburg) serve Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) as well as Interlink Airlines (Johannesburg), Pelican Air Services (Vilanculos) and Air France.

Mpumalanga's smaller cities and the Mpumalanga game reserve also have domestic airports, which allows visitors to charter flights.

A number of car rental companies are located at the Kruger Mpumalanga Internation Airport such as Avis, Hertz, National/ Alamo, Europcar and Budget.

The facilities that are at KMIA include ATM, currency exchange facilities, a restaurant, cafe and curio shops. KMIA also provides a lovely conference venue and hosts school tours.

There is parking available at KMIA, for short term and long term. There are 198 parking bays under shade cloth with 24 hour security. Tariffs range from R2.00 (0 – 30 min) to R40.00 (18 – 24 hours) (Please note that this amount can change without prior notice). Discounts are offered for long stays.

Alternative airports are Mala Mala (AAM) 92km, Manzini-Matsapha International (MTS) 122km, Hoedspruit (HDS) 124km, Maputo International (MPM) 166km and Phalaborwa (PHW) 166km.
