Lady Grey Agricultural Show

p>Surrounded by the majestic Witteberg mountain range, and lying just below Lesotho, in the Southern Drakensberg, the Eastern Cape town of Lady Grey hosts an annual agricultural show during the month of July. The annual showcase which is staged at the more than a century-old Victorian-style Mountain View Inn Country, has become a much anticipated highlight on Lady Grey's events calendar, and the enthusiastic show committee regularly surprise show goers with a special and different show each year.

The popular events usually kick off with livestock judging, where visitors will witness proud farmers entering their finest beasts into an extremely competitive field. The event houses a variety of activities and attractions for the entire family, which include various tempting food and crafts stalls, displays of farming implements, equipment and vehicles, paintball, clay pigeon shooting, puppet shows for the children, a programme of women's activities , bicycle races, extreme bike and quad off road fun rallies, horse riding or jumping, Gyrocopter rides, Microlites and live music.

Visitors to the Lady Grey Agricultural Show can also expect to see numerous interesting and informative demonstrations, which in recent years have included police dog displays and shows, vehicle and machinery demonstrations and various instructional demonstrations. The show always ends with the show dance.
