Chelmsford Nature Reserve

The Ntshingwayo Dam on the Ngagane River has created a beautiful sanctuary for a large number of waterfowl. including Egyptian geese, flamingos, and assorted ducks, and a wonderful playground for power boating, anglers, and other water sport enthusiasts. Beneath the waters anglers can expect to nab the usual suspects - carp mudfish, and bass.

The surrounding grasslands and acacia veld are the playground of several large game, including rhino, wildebeest, hartebeest, springbok, and blesbok.

The dam has a prolific birdlife, including flamingoes, grass owl, blue korhaan, great crested grebe, knob-billed duck, spike-heeled lark , pink-billed lark, and both white-bellied and black-bellied korhaan.
