Walker Bay Nature Reserve is a scenic stretch of coastline, beginning near the Klein River lagoon and continuing for about 20 km to De Kelders near Gansbaai. The predominant vegetation in the area is coastal fynbos, also known as strandveld.
The Klipgat Cave was occupied during the during the Middle Stone Age and later by the Khoisan who left traces of the kitchen middens near the cave.
Activities in the park include hiking trails, fishing, swimming, and picnicking.
