Keurbooms River Nature Reserve

NO COMMISSION SINCE 1998

Keurbooms River Nature Reserve

The Keurbooms estuary and river are best explored by taking the Whiskey Creek Canoe Trail, that gently wends it way up past steep river gorges and afromontane forests of stinkwood, yellowwood, ironwood, and of course, keurboom. Power boats are not permitted past the 4 km mark. Once past this point the waters become quiet and one can begin to enjoy the serene beauty and prolific birdlife. Canoe rentals are available at the Keurbooms Reserve kiosk at the Keurbooms River bridge.
