Every summer the Spier Wine Estate hosts a Summer Performing Arts Festival at their open air amphitheatre, showcasing South Africa's top performers in dance, opera, music, theatre, and comedy.

Last summer's line-up of performing artists included big names like Hugh Masekela and South Africa's one and only Pieter-Dirk Uys a.k.a Evita Bezuidenhout. The Jazzart Dance Theatre and Magnet Theatre have put together ""Cargo"" a movement performance that illuminates the dark era of slavery in the Cape.

The Third World Bunfight and Cape Town Opera will be presenting Macbeth the Opera. Directed by Brett Bailey, Macbeth the Opera gives a modern spin to a this Shakespearian classic. The setting is Africa, but the story of power and greed is the same.
