Situated on Plantation Island, Island Buoys, offers a secure seaside holiday with private beaches, kms of paths to run, a bird park and kms of canals to swim/canoe in.

If you are new to Thesen Islands, the resort is set in the tidal Knysna lagoon, surrounded by the beautiful Outeniqua Mountain range on one side and the Knysna Heads on the other. You can safely walk to the nearby restaurants and shops and the Knysna Oyster Company and Dolphin & Whale watching tours are also based on the islands.

Islands Buoys is a stunning 4 bedroom villa, that can accommodate 8 persons and is fully equipped, including luxury linen, bath and swimming towels. The house has a flat screen TV, DStv, surround sound system, sparkling swimming pool with safety net. The lounge and dining room have double volume, exposed beam ceilings and open out onto the swimming pool deck. The outdoor area includes a dining table and sitting area, under cover, as well as a built in barbeque/braai so that you can eat outdoors even if it is raining. For those chilly winter nights we have a fireplace in the lounge.

The spacious master bedroom, with generous en-suite, is situated on the ground floor and also opens out onto the swimming pool deck. There is a further double bedroom on the ground floor as well as a shower room and guest toilet. Two further double bedrooms are located on the first floor, with a large bath room and walk-in shower. All are decorated in tranquil, sea-washed colours.

There is secure parking for 2 cars.

We also have a separate one bedroom flat with stunning views of the Knysna Heads - perfect for honeymooners or smaller groups. The flat can accommodate 2 adults and 2 small children. The flat has a lounge, kitchenette (fully equipped) and double bedroom with a shower room and is decorated in the same style as the main house. You can enjoy all that Thesen Islands has to offer, at a much lower price. Please note that the house and flat will not be rented to separate parties at the same time.

Great care has been taken to ensure that if you are travelling with children, they will be safe and entertained while you have a relaxing holiday. We have many books, toys, games & a few ride-on cycles available for their use - that is when they are not at the beach, swimming or playing at the islands playground all of which is less than 5 minutes walk from the house. Who knows, they might even find some pirate treasure buried at the maze (again less than 5mins walk)! Tennis courts, Squash courts, the clubhouse and orchard are also close by.

We can provide a travel cot, high-chair and stair gate if required.

We can also happily provide a list of some of the fantastic attractions in the area, including local markets, restaurants, adventure activities and a few more things to do that are off-the beaten track.
