Jabulani means 'happy' - with its abundance of flora and fauna in the surrounding indigenous forest, combined with the spectacular Drakensberg scenery, the Jabulani bush camp is a sanctuary for any nature lover. There is surely no finer way to relax than around a crackling fire beneath a star spangled sky.
Located in the
Northern Drakensberg, Jabulani offers you the ideal location to relax and unwind in a magnificent setting situated within easy striking distance from Johannesburg (3 1/2 hours) and Durban (2 1/2 hours). The camp caters for all tastes and appeals to young and old alike, for family holidays or weekend getaways.
The bush camp features a unique combination of both thatched and tented 'A' frame accommodation units, hidden amongst the vegetation for that extra bit of privacy. It is illuminated with solar power by choice. Jabulani has six 2-sleeper en-suite units. The five en-suite family units consist of a downstairs room with two single beds, and a loft with two smaller beds for children under 13 years of age. Linen is provided.
Honeymoon Suite:
The camp has a new Honeymoon Suite with one queen size bed and one double bed sleeper couch. This unit is en-suite and also has an open plan equipped kitchen and sit area.
Self Catering Units:
There is two new self catering units available on the property. These units are en-suite, has two single beds in each units and also has a small equipped kitchen.
The communal kitchen and dining area, has the following available: two large fridges, one large deep freezer, gas stoves with an oven, washing up area, tables and chairs. Communal braai area's as well as an idividual braai area at each unit is available. Wood can be purchased on the property. There is no restaurant on the property and catering will only be done for 10 or more guests.
The camp grounds cover a sprawling area, which includes well stocked bass dams, along with large areas of indigenous forest. Horse riding with experienced guides take you on a trail through strolling savannah where you will be greeted with magnificent views and abundant game sighting. Other activities at the bush camp include hiking and bird watching In and around the area, covering a radius of 75km, you can enjoy full day drives or hikes to the top of the Amphitheatre, various restaurants, hotels and arts & crafts. Other places of interest include the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park (Royal Natal/Tugela Gorge), Sterkfontien Dam and vulture feeding spot, Spioenkop Game Reserve and Battlefield.
