Karkloof is the gem of the Midlands. Situated 20kms north of Howick, 5 hours
from Johannesburg and an hour and a half from Durban. Away from everything, but
near enough to enjoy all that the Midlands has to offer. At the fringe of the
beautiful indigenous forest of the Karkloof Reserve and neighboring the ever
popular Canopy Tours is where you will find our peaceful hide-away.
The fresh water stream flowing through the property and the birds not to mention
the Samango monkeys, provide the background noises ensuring a relaxing country
experience. This is a 'Bring a Book and a Bottle of Wine' kind of place.
Cape Chestnut, the family unit has a separate bed room with a queen size bed and
a bathroom en-suite. The open plan living area includes a double bunk, settee,
dinette and a fully equipped kitchen. Electric blankets, hairdryer, towels,
shampoo and body wash through to braai grid, fire wood and lighters, torch and
tongs everything to ensure a comfortable stay.
Bramble Berry is the couples’ cabin. With a shower en-suite and open plan bed
room with queen size bed, soft loungers, dinette, and fully equipped kitchen,
and all the luxuries of the bigger unit. The cabin perches above the stream in a
natural bush setting.
Both cabins are self catering. No room service is provided to ensure your
privacy is not intruded upon. Although, fresh towels are provided on longer
stays. Dinner and breakfast options are available by arrangement.
Bedding and towels are provided for in both cabins, as well as shampoo, bodywash
and kitchen cleaning liquid.
There are braai facilities at both cabins, and we provide a grid, ample firewood
and firelighters.
Coffee, tea, sugar and 500ml longlife milk are also provided for in the cabins.
The garden is safe for kids and there are plenty of little walks to venture on.
In Karkloof you have the feeling of peace and tranquility.
