as business or holiday stopover.
Karoobos is located in the quiet Karoo town of Hofmeyr, on the popular R390
route between Gauteng /OFS and Port Elizabeth /Jeffreysbay [1000 km from Jhb,
320 km from PE, and 63 km from Cradock]. The Gariep Dam is only 150 km from
Hofmeyr. Karoobos Farmstall has a variety of homemade products our speciality,
is our homemade pies we also have a wonderfull traditional boerekos menu for our
guests. We have karoolamb or braaipacks available for self -catering. Lots of
biltong and droewors. Hofmeyr is surrounded by hunting and sheepfarms. At
Karoobos you will find Karoo hospitality at its best. Accommadation comprises of
five spacious bedrooms, 3 of them en-suite, and two bedrooms or family rooms
sharing a bathroom. All rooms have DSTV and Mnet, tea and coffee facilities,
heaters, hairdryers and complimentry tioletries. Tranquil surroundings with
swimmingpool lovely rose garden. Guests are free to use 'barbeque' facilities.
Safe and secure coverd parking. For self-catering lovely dinningroom and a fully
equipped farm-style kitchen with microwave-oven, eyelevel oven with hob ,
fridge, cutlery,crockery kitchen utensils for 11 people. The guesthouse is fulle
serviced on a daily basis for the comfort of guests, laundry can be arranged
with your host. Guests can enjoy a farm-style breakfast at Karoobos Farmstall or
other delicious homemade treats to temp your plate. Our farmstall restaurant and
coffeshop has a unique traditional selection of light meals and tea's.
Karoobos guesthouse is children, pets and disabled friendly. We accept Credit
Cards.
In the kitchen a mini-bar is stocked with a selection of wines, chips, snacks,
biltong and drywors. We also have a room available for smokers.
500 m tenniscourt. Biking about 29 km on gravel road. Lovely scenery next to the
Brakriver. Letrocaurus Fossils 29 km. Fishing and bird watching Grassridge Dam,
fish like Barber, Yellowfish, Carb. The local Fish River Canoemarathon starts
here. We also can organize river rafting on the Brakriver. The Mountain Zebra
Park about 1 hours drive from guesthouse. Hiking Trails for nature lovers can be
arranged.
