KNOPBERG
Bush Lodge (Self Catering) Accommodation
in Venterskroon, Eastern Region,
North West, South Africa
Hugged in the folds of the Vredefort Dome Bergland, the tranquil little
guestfarm Knopberg provides comfortable self-catering accommodation and
entertains visitors with unique views of the Vaal River valley, beautiful
sun-sets, a variety of indigenous trees and a range of local birds. We are
situated only 25 kilometers from Potchefstroom.
Knopberg borders the Vaal River in close proximity of the historical
Venterskroon Town where gold was mined towards the end of the 19th century.
The main building, Heemstede, comprises four double rooms each with doors
opening to the outside, a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious living room with
a fireplace and large windows for an atmosphere of being-outside.
Renovated authentically, the original farmhouse, the Oude Opstal, has three
double rooms, two bathrooms, a dollhouse-like kitchen which connects with a
small living room extending onto a shady berg-view stoep.
Bergsig is a self-contained cosy cottage for two with a romantic bathroom and
open-air shower. The original farm dam now serves as swimming pool and each unit
has a comfortable separate braai area.
A two kilometre Tree Trail with its clearly identified indigenous trees provides
variable scenery as well as exercise. A unique feature of Knopberg is Iaan's
Trail with secluded areas among whispering indigenous trees where visitors can
withdraw for meditation or prayer.
Various adventure activities can be arranged including: Dome tours, absailing,
horse safaris, rock climbing, quad outrides, mountain biking, fly fishing,
canoeing and white water rafting. We also have a qualified chef on request!
All towels and linen are provided, but please bring your own beach towels.
Smoking is not permitted inside the buildings but provision is made outside.
Looking forward to welcoming you at Knopberg!
