We're an owner-run guest house in the suburb of
Observatory, Cape Town - below the towering Devil's Peak as it runs down to the Liesbeek River.
Just out of the city centre, yet close to all the major highways -
Observatory is a cosmopolitan and vibey enclave, populated by academics, professionals, artists and students. The village centre hosts and eclectic range of shops, restaurants, pubs and music venues.
Koornhoop Manor House is just 2 minutes walk from Observatory Centre. We have 8 en-suite double and single rooms and 2 large furnished self catering apartments (3 bedrooms, lounge and kitchen).
We offer a full-spread continental breakfast, secure parking, a beautiful big garden to relax in, and personalised service from your hosts - Vic and Trish Smith.

We started
Koornhoop Manor House as a guest house in 1989 - one of the first established in the country, and a founder member of the Guest House Association of South Africa.
Trish is from Zimbabwe and holds a Cordon Bleu diploma, Vic is from Blackburn, UK - and a qualified SATOUR tour guide. We also have an 7 seater MPV, so we can offer you your own exclusively arranged tours!
We have many satisfied customers - in fact around 90% of our custom is from our regular guests and referrals.
At your service...
Koornhoop Manor House is personally run by the owners, Vic and Trish, who can assist with planning your stay, airport transfers, car hire, arranging tours, personalised excursions and recommended out of town accommodation if you need it.
Breakfast is served daily by Vic or Trish - a deluxe continental buffet consisting of juices, cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruits, jams, marmalades and savoury spreads, pate, cheeses, cold meats, boiled eggs, different hot breads, tea and coffee. Bon Appetit!
Please Note: Wireless Internet is now available (own computer required).
All bedrooms are en-suite, with TV, free tea and coffee facilities. The lounge has a help-yourself bar fridge, telephone, daily papers and lots of information on what to do.
Our
self catering apartments are luxurious 3-bedroom suites, with a large lounge (TV and Hi-fi), private garden, office space, breakfast nook and fully equipped kitchen. They come fully furnished with linen, crockery, cutlery and private telephone line.
We have secure off-street parking with a remote-controlled gate, and a large, walled, oft-admired garden that offers a tranquil spot in which to stop and gather your thoughts.
