KUBU BALI is a stunning block of Bali-style apartments comfortably
sleeping 6 in three bedrooms (2 double and 2 single beds), with 2 bathrooms (MES
- bath and shower). The tastefully furnished apartment offers open-plan, airy
living whilst guests enjoy ocean views from the second-floor balcony . Each room
is provided with good-quality "whisper-quiet" fans. However, the apartment is
positioned in such a way that extra protection against the heat of the sun is
provided, keeping the building cool at all times.
A spacious open-plan lounge provides comfortable seating, whilst guests can
watch colour TV (please bring own Smart Card if DStv required or there is a
local facility to hire a card if you forget!) or watch a DVD. The kitchen, which
boasts granite working surfaces, is fully equipped with under-counter stove and
4-plate hob, washing machine and tumble dryer. A microwave, kettle, toaster, and
sandwich-maker are also provided in this otherwise fully-equipped kitchen.
We respectfully request that guests do not smoke in the apartment, but are
welcome to do so upon the balcony where comfortable outside furniture is
provided.
Linen is provided, however guests are requested to bring own personal and beach
towels.
The large covered balcony (also catering for the inclement weather - heaven
forbid!) provides for outdoor entertaining using a gas braai built into a
serving facility with a bird's eye view of the magnificent swimming pool with
thatched umbrella shading and rustic fencing. There are, however, charcoal braai
areas provided, as an alternative to gas, available in a picnic area overlooking
the almost private beach.
A very brief walk via a private gate through landscaped gardens will take guests
onto a truly magnificent, almost private, beach with rock pools to keep children
(and their fishermen Dads) occupied for hours. No roads to cross, just a safe
and secure access to the beach.
Also within walking distance are the two largest Shopping Malls on the South
Coast; the Shelly Centre and the "shopper's delight" South Coast Mall. Both
Malls offer a host of entertainment and eateries with the Shelly Centre having a
State of the Art 6-cinema complex with up-to-the-minute movies.
If you wish, leave the car under the shaded carports for your entire stay.
Everything will remain safe within the walled and electrified fence confines.
Should guests prefer a more active holiday, other facilities are available
within easy driving distance. There are number of golf clubs: Margate,
Wild Coast Sun and Sherbourne - and that's just for the guys.
Family activities available from the Shelly Beach Ski Boat Club provide scuba
diving, whale/dolphin viewing trips, deep sea fishing.
Then there are other places of interest to visit within a short driving
distance from Shelly Beach:
Oribi George: offers swing-jumping, absailing, hiking trails, river rafting and
the Eland Nature Reserve to view animals and picnic - this trip will also
take the more adventurous to breathtaking scenic view points over the Gorge via
a rope bridge (there is an alternative route that bypasses it!). Wild-Coast
Casino: world renowned golf course, restaurants, entertainment and the
chance to win on the tables to pay for the holiday!
Other places of interest locally are the Crocodile Farm at Southbroom,
St Michael's Bird Park, Pure Venom Reptile Farm and not to forget the coffee
farms - well worth a visit to sample their delicious inexpensive cuisine and
coffees straight from the beans). The South Coast also offers stunning 'Blue
Flag' beaches.
A deposit of 50% on booking is required with balance payable 14 days prior to
occupation. Unfortunately, there are no facilities for credit/debit cards -
internet banking deposits are, however, welcomed. Keys are available on arrival
and will be handed over only on confirmation that payment has been made in full.
Cancellation refunds will only be considered 1 month prior to occupation (unless
in exceptional circumstances) with an admin retention fee of R50.00.
A breakage deposit of R500.00 is required, payable on booking. This will be
refunded in full, (providing everything is in tact), after the facility has been
checked (usually within 3 working days).
Arrival: After 14h00 (arrivals after 17h00 will be requested to collect
keys en route)
Departure: No later than 10h00 (negotiable if no other guests are
expected)
