Margate are a five minute drive away.
Teenagers can take a walk along the sea-front into Margate where MTN provide daily beach activities each day during season. The Margate Tourism also holds an evening Mardi Gras, with market stalls and entertainment in the main street on Wednesdays and Fridays in season.
The boulevard along the sea-front is also ideal for joggers, walkers and cyclists.

- Oribi Gorge - On windy days take a trip inland to Oribi Gorge. (+- 30 mins from Uvongo) Drive through the gorge, take in the sights from the top of the gorge. Visit the overhanging rock and end up with lunch at the Oribi Gorge Hotel or take a picnic. Oribi Extreme is responsible for the rafting, abseiling and hiking in the area. For the brave - take a go on the new SWING in the gorge. 170m high.
- Ocean Safaris - whale and dolphin viewing at Shelley Beach.
- Deep Sea Fishing Charters - Launching from Shelley Ski Boat Club.
- Dive Charters - Shark Adventures - Launching from Shelley Beach.
