Situated in the Elands Valley just 19 kilometers from the village of Dullstroom, San - Solina Cabin is a luxury cottage on the farm of Lake Heron. It is ideally suited for the keen fisherman or just a quiet, romantic weekend away. There are 2 dams available for fishing of which both are catch and release only. The dams are all within walking distance of the cottage. The largest dam is situated 600m from the cottage and should not take you more than 5 minutes to walk to. The dams range between 2 to 3 hectares in size.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COTTAGE IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE MAIN HOUSE AND OLD FARM BUILDINGS.
Bedroom
The bedroom has a king size bed, fireplace and television. There is an electric
blanket, hot water bottles and an extra heater for those chilly evenings. There
is a portable fan for the warmer days. A hairdryer is available. The bedroom
opens out onto a large patio area over looking Maragajeep dam and the sunrise.
Bathroom
There is a separate bathroom with a Victorian bath and shower. There is a heated
towel rail and overhead heater.
Lounge / Kitchen Area
The kitchen and lounge area is open plan with a fireplace. There is dining table
for 4 people as well as DStv, DVD and a CD player. The kitchen is fully equipped
with a fridge/freezer, stove, microwave and coffee machine. There is a small
selection of DVD's and books for your enjoyment.
Entertainment Area
The patio area extends around the cottage and overlooks two of the dams. There
is a Weber braai as well as a separate barrel braai (for those not yet converted
to a Weber!) available for your use. Charcoal, firelighters and wood are
supplied.
Fishing
Catch and release only in 2 of the well stocked trophy dams. These waters are
suited for the experienced fisherman. A third dam, Maragajeep, which is situated
closest to the cottage and is the smallest of the dams, is available for easy
fishing. There is a bag limit of 4 fish per 2 night stay. Some of these fish are
slightly smaller so that they can be enjoyed in the pan!
Clay Pigeon Target shooting available on site or at our Clay Pigeon Shooting
Club outside of the village.
This unit is not serviced during your stay as to ensure that you are not
disturbed at any stage.
No quad bikes allowed.
No smoking allowed in the cottage.
No pets allowed.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COTTAGE IS IN CLOSE PROXIMATEY TO THE MAIN HOUSE AND OLD
FARM BUILDINGS. The old farm buildings are being renovated and will shortly be
converted into further cottages.
