Founded in 1872, the small Eastern Karoo town of Steynsburg consists of about
400 households, and lies deep within the Eastern Cape sheep farming territory.
The small town is nestled in a ring of mountains and koppies, adding to the
scenic appeal of the area which is slowly being re-discovered by those seeking
an alternative to the fast paced city lifestyle.
Property prices in Steynsburg are affordable, so those who relocate to the area
can have the country property they've always dreamed about, without having to
worry about paying an arm and a leg. .Steynsburg lies situated at an altitude of
1460 metres, and the pollution-free climate is very healthy. The region
experiences hot summers, cold clear winter days, sufficient rainfall ,and on
occasion even snow.
Recent times have seen a number of new faces moving into Steynsburg, with
numerous renovations being undertaken, and new business opening up.
The town features a Country Club with a nine-hole golf course, a well maintained
bowling green, a gymnasium and the Clubhouse bar, with a kitchen and hall which
are often used for a variety of community functions and gatherings such as
weddings and birthdays.
Steynsburg's facilities include shops, cafes, an eatery or two, a bank, a post
office, a library, a farmers' co-operative, several B & B's, a caravan park, a
petrol station and garage, a small hospital and visiting GP's from a nearby
town. Municipal services of electricity, water, sewerage and refuse removal are
well managed, as is the telephone system. There are also active garden and art
clubs and the dormant Tennis Club is awaiting revival. A wider variety of
facilities for out of the ordinary requirements is available in one or other of
the nearby neighbouring towns of Burgersdorp, Craddock, Middelburg and
Queenstown.

(Courtyard).

Room 1: 1 double bed, shared bathroom
Room 2: 3 single beds, shared bathroom (plus 1 roll-out divan can be used if
necessary)
Room 3: 2 x 3/4 beds, crib, dining table and easy chairs with a full
bathroom en suite
Room 4: 1 double bed, toilet and shower en suite
- TV's. All bedrooms have TV's.
- All rooms have a 'coffee station'.
- Spacious dining room.
- Pet friendly.
- Quiet and peaceful (not on the main road) set in a tranquil garden.
- We offer Bed and Breakfast, Dinner Bed and Breakfast, or full board,
packed lunches if required, braai facilities available in the beer garden.
- We are registered with the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency and are
graded.
- Light meals are available from our Take-away.
